  • How do I file a claim? How does my veterinarian receive payment?

    Like most insurance providers, Figo works on a reimbursement model, which means you pay your vet up front and Figo reimburses any eligible claims.

  • When would my coverage start?
    Coverage starts after your waiting period is complete. Figo has a one-day waiting period for accidents, 14 days for illnesses, and six months for orthopedic injuries to dogs. Depending on your policy, you may be able to waive the orthopedic waiting period by having your vet complete a waiver. See policy for details.

  • What if my pet currently has an illness?
    From sniffles to skin issues and everything in between, Figo offers protection for eligible illnesses that surface after your coverage starts. If your pet has an illness that started before your coverage kicked in, that’s considered a pre-existing condition and may not be eligible for coverage. However, Figo may cover "curable" pre-existing conditions if they show no signs/symptoms within 12 months of treatment.

  • Can my coverage be canceled because of how many claims I make or how old my pet gets?
    No need to fear coverage ending due to number of claims or pet age. Figo insures dogs and cats of all ages – from tiny paws to golden years. And with no caps on claim payouts, you can make the most of your annual benefits.

  • Do I need to provide my pet’s medical records to get this coverage?
    Figo does not require a veterinary exam to enroll. If you cannot provide medical records showing your pet’s annual health exam by a licensed veterinarian within the 12 months prior to the effective date of your Figo pet insurance policy, the first documented veterinary examination after the effective date of the policy may be used as a basis for determining any pre-existing condition.
